Mr. & Mrs. Lynam: Our Most Romantic Dance Night

After nearly missing our international flight, as we were safely aboard our aircraft we opened it. Our honeymoon to Italy had just begun and we already felt like secret agents. We pulled the oversized fedex mailing envelope and removed the contents, the return address was a familiar one - our corporate headquarters. Inside there was a card from the president and the chief officers of our company congratulating us. In addition to some traveler’s checks, they also included a travel book that was filled hand written instructions. There were notes like, “Here’s the best place to get Gelato in Florence” and “Great shopping area if you want to find some good deals.” We were thrilled. All it needed was a stamp on the front that said “For Your Eyes Only”. As we leafed through the pages there was a note that caught our eye and it read, “It is an Arthur Murray tradition that any couple who travels to Venice on their honeymoon must dance together in Saint Mark’s square”.

So, on an October night in 2005, we did just that. While people were enjoying their espressos and pasta while dining al fresco, we stood up and danced tango to the live music in front of the Florian Cafe in Venice, Italy. The best way to describe the moment was “quiet”. Yes, there was music, and there were plenty of people. The difference was we were anonymous. There weren’t any rhinestones, fake tan, or people clapping. It was just us, husband and wife… secret agents from Arthur Murray.

Happy Valentine's Day from Mr. & Mrs. Lynam. We hope you enjoy a romantic dance night of your own soon.
