10 Reasons Why You Need the Arthur Murray District Dance Camp

You may have heard a little something about a pair of United States Rhythm Champions coming out to teach our first ever District Dance Camp. Whether you have, or you haven't, here are 10 Reasons why you need to have an event like this in your life.

1. Energy

Have you ever met Emmanuel Pierre Antoine?  You know, that mild, calm, and shy shell of a person? How about Liana Churliova? You know, the one who rarely smiles, and has trouble dancing with much energy or passion.  Not.  This pair are truly a dynamic duo of energy.  The way they dance, which is incredible if you didn't know already, is also how they teach and carry themselves.  You'll know after the first session.

2. Leg Action

It's easy for a high level dance professional to dazzle you with high level technique.  Almost like how a celebrity chef will dazzle the palettes of her patrons.  Yet it would be easy to keep those secrets, and just continue to dazzle the crowd. Not at this camp.  Both Liana and Emmanuel are offering the tools they themselves have used to create the recipes to their own dance improvement.

3. Mambo Timing

It's on the agenda.  Enough said.

4. Community

With at least 9 Arthur Murray locations around Northern California participating, the District Dance Camp offers students a chance to interact with each other in a fun, less formal, sort of environment.  Community within our organization happens best when we are relaxed, learning, and having fun.  We think this event will do that.

5. The First

You know those old pictures showing the people that were there for a groundbreaking, or ribbon cutting ceremony?  That's going to be you, but, you know, for a dance camp.  This event is the first of its kind in the Bay Area, and it certainly won't be the last.

6. Your Mind

Emmanuel and Liana are masters of the physical dance world, but for everything that you appreciate them do in terms of dancing, they are equally gifted as teachers.  The entire camp is centered around Dance Concepts, rather than just Dance Steps.  This way, everyone can take hold of something that will apply to their own dance material.

7. Have Yourself a Camp

School is nearly out for the children, and that means there will be a constant shuttle service to different activities and camps for them... but what about you?  How about you kick off camp season with a camp that is just for you?

8. Seasonally Speaking

It's normal for the summer to bring our dance program momentum down a few notches.  The cure for that is creating momentum building catalysts that will keep your progress building, and keep you from the sweet tea seduction of your chaise lounger.  This dance camp will give you the opportunity to have a full day of learning, not "showcase-ing", but learning.  Not to mention Emmanuel and Liana's renewable energy source has been known to incinerate chaise loungers within a 200 mile radius.

9. Fun

Your teachers are a bunch of characters. Just standing around in a room for more than 10 minutes, would make this event fun.  Now imagine your teachers, plus Emmanuel and Liana, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from 9am-5pm.  There will be fun, and you'll need to be there to experience it.

10. Supercharge Your Dancing

After working with a great coach like Emmanuel or Liana, most people kick themselves for not scheduling more than one appointment.  Muscle memory needs supervised repetition to become a natural dance habit.  With this format, you can start something at the beginning of the day, and have it supercharged by camp's end.

Final Thought

A Dance Camp like this gives you the opportunity to work with this dynamic duo for 4-8 hours.  If you took one coaching lesson with them a year, this dance camp would be a decade of information! We are so excited to have an event like this, and even more excited that these two fantastic teachers are kicking it off.
