Top Counselors
What is an Arthur Murray Counselor?
The Arthur Murray Counselor oversees the lessons and dance programs for brand new students at the dance studio. Their role is part coach, part planner, and 100% supportive. Their job is to take the goals and conversations from the student, the ideas and plans of the New Student Specialists, and to help guide the direction of the dance journey going forward with all those factors in consideration.
Charlotte Keezer | 2017 marked Charlotte's first Top 20 result as a New Student Counselor in Walnut Creek. |
Eva Love | This was Eva's first Top 20 finish and first invitation to the one on one panel as a Counselor in San Francisco. |
Top Supervisors
What is an Arthur Murray Supervisor?
An Arthur Murray Supervisor is, essentially, the coach of the advanced teaching department. Through progress checks and training behind the scenes, the Supervisors are in place to act as quality control for your dance program. Need things to move a little faster? Done. Need a better idea of how the Medal Ball fits into your dance calendar? Easy-peasy. This is all part of the Supervisor's day to day operations.
Karen Prado | Karen Prado joins the one on one panel with over a decade of experience as a Supervisor in the Hayward and Walnut Creek locations. |
Alex Doan | As Supervisor in Redwood City, Alex brings his strong management experience in one of the top AM locations in the world to the one on one panel. |
New Student Specialist
What is an Arthur Murray New Student Specialist?
The New Student Specialists are so vital to the overall health of a dance studio. They are the professionals dedicated to helping people make their first transition from the outside world, into a potentially life changing hobby. New Student Specialists work alongside the Counselor to help construct dance programs that are tailored to their students, and match their goals on and off the dance floor.
Instructor
What is an Arthur Murray Instructor?
The term "instructor" may seem a little generic within the scope of a dance studio, but for Arthur Murray, this term is reserved for the professionals that work primarily with students that are "Bronze and beyond". While the New Student Specialists work to establish the roots of their beginning dance skills, Instructors are responsible for building the structure of a student's dance hobby.

Final Thought
These professionals are each part of a team that makes each studio work. Ask each of them and they'd be the first to deflect this Top 20 honor to the other members of their teaching and management team. But for the weekend of January 20th and 21st, they aren't just Top 20 performers, but also mentors to the up and coming professionals looking for advice on how to improve.
