Finalizing Our Dancing with the Stars 24 Dream Team
So we've been, sort of, excited about Dancing with the Stars 24. Maybe a lot. OK, we are officially Dancing with the Stars 24 celebrity stalkers - guilty as charged.
So while ABC is, no doubt, on a recruiting mission to follow up on a fantastic Season 23, we have been busy doing our best to create a Celebrity Dream Team based on the feedback from our Facebook community.
How the Arthur Murray Live Dancing... 24 Dream Team Started
1. We picked our 5 favorite celebs we'd like to see join the Dancing... 24 cast.
2. Our Facebook community exploded with fantastic suggestions of their own.
3. We decided to create a Dancing with the Stars Quiz to determine who the favorites were.
4. We decided to create a Dream Team, and take the top 3 vote getters until we reached 12 DWTS contestants.
5. Poll Number 1 Added: John Stamos, Mark Paul Gosselaar, and Alyssa Milano to the Dream Team.
6. Poll Number 2 Added: Luke Bryan, Reba McEntire, and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen
7. Read below for the results of Poll 3!
8. Vote Now in our 4th and Final Poll!
The Bottom 3
Key Takeaways from the Bottom 3
Eric La Salle - If this poll were the real thing, and he, in fact, didn't make the show - we would be sad to know that they couldn't do a Soul Glo "Coming to America" inspired performance.
Megan Mullally - the spunky sidekick on Will & Grace may not have done well in this poll, but with a Will & Grace comeback, we are pretty sure she's not too upset.
Aziz Ansari - Aziz may be the biggest star you've never heard of. He's an author, comedian, actor, and public speaker. He's hilarious, would probably fire off the best jokes about tight dance clothing and spray tan, and we hope he's being considered for the show.
Middle of the Pack
3 Key Takeaways of the Middle of the Pack
Anderson Cooper - The journalist with the steely blue eyes showed up, surprisingly, closer to the bottom 3 than the top.
Rick Shroeder - The former Silver Spoons actor didn't seem to have the same cache with our Facebook poll audience that his co-star, and Dancing with the Stars winner, Alphonso Ribiero did.
Danielle Fishel - Known to many young 90's males by one name "Topanga". She came close to the Top 3, but the Boy Meets... star seems to have faded in potential DWTS popularity.
The Top 3 Celebrities in Our Poll
Key Takeaways from the Top 3
Mark Wahlburg
Whether it's a big budget blockbuster, big bulging muscles, or a big time play in the world of hip hop - Mr. Wahlburg would be an A-list add to the Dancing cast. While there's probably a greater chance that Wahlburg becomes a producer on the show before he becomes a contestant, demonstrating his dance ability would certainly make the case for him being one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood.
Johnny Weir
He's an A-lister on the ice, and he'd definitely bring plenty of drama, showmanship, and glam in dance shoes as well. While being known as the "bad boy of ice skating" won't necessarily intimidate anyone at a biker bar, it would crossover nicely into the ballroom ecosystem.
Shemar Moore
The former Soap Opera star, host of Soul Train, and Bay Area native took the top position in our poll taking 25% of the total votes. As an actor in a variety of genres, and a successful modeling career, he has a resume that shows how adaptable he could be.
